Who we are
CPT UK is a personal training and coaching service run by Martin Gooden in Nottingham, United Kingdom. This policy covers this website. If you become a client, the CPT UK app has its own privacy policy.
CPT UK is the data controller for the personal data described here. We handle it in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For anything in this policy, email info@cptuk.co.uk.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our application form we collect:
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Your answers: how you would like to train, your goals, your training background (which may include injuries or health conditions you choose to tell us about), how much time you can commit, and your budget.
Anything you tell us about your health is special category data under UK GDPR. We only use it with your explicit consent, which you give by including it in your enquiry, and only to assess whether our coaching is right for you.
When you sign up to our email list we collect your first name and email address, along with the date you signed up, the page you signed up on and the wording you agreed to, so we have a record of your consent.
To prevent spam, both forms also store a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. It cannot be turned back into your IP address and is only used to limit repeated submissions.
If you just browse the site, we do not collect personal data about you. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
How we use it
If you send an enquiry, we use it:
- To review your enquiry and decide whether we can help.
- To contact you to arrange a consultation call.
- To prepare for that call so the time is useful to you.
Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a coaching contract with you, and your explicit consent for any health information. Sending an enquiry does not add you to our email list.
If you sign up to our email list, we use your name and email address to send you marketing emails from CPT UK, such as news, articles and updates about our coaching. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by signing up. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Who can see your data
Only Martin Gooden and the people who help run CPT UK. We use trusted providers to run the website, and they process data only on our instructions:
- Vercel: hosts this website.
- Supabase: stores your enquiry, email sign-ups and the journal's articles and videos, with data held in London.
- Resend: sends us an email when a new enquiry arrives.
- Google Fonts: serves the typeface used on the site. Your browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address.
- YouTube and Vimeo: if a journal post contains an embedded video, it is loaded from YouTube or Vimeo. See our cookie policy.
If we start using an email marketing service to send our emails, we will add it to this list. We never sell your data or share it for other organisations' marketing.
How long we keep it
If you do not go on to become a client, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you do, your details become part of your client record and are covered by the app's privacy policy.
We keep your email sign-up until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you unsubscribe, we delete your details from our list.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send you your data in a portable format.
Email info@cptuk.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You can withdraw consent for us to use your health information at any time in the same way.
You can stop our marketing emails at any time, for free, by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing, and we will stop as soon as you ask.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Our coaching is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and the date at the top.
